    * Therapy and prevention
    * Animal models
    * Genetic services
    * Community genetics

Journal of Medical Genetics,link here, is a leading international peer-reviewed journal covering original research in human genetics, including reviews of and opinion on the latest developments. Articles cover the molecular basis of human disease including germline cancer genetics, clinical manifestations of genetic disorders, applications of molecular genetics to medical practice and the systematic evaluation of such applications.

BMC Medical Genetics, link here, is an open access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles in the effects of genetic variation in individuals, families and among populations in relation to human health and disease.

The Americal Journal of Human Genetics link here

BJ ChemBio, link here, welcomes research whereby chemistry and chemical tools in their broadest sense are used to study and manipulate biological systems. The development of new tools, compounds and reagents to probe biological questions in innovative ways are welcomed.

Professional Associations

The European Society of Human Geneticsis, link here, a non-profit organization. Its aims are to promote research in basic and applied human and medical genetics, to ensure high standards in clinical practice and to facilitate contacts between all persons who share these aims, particularly those working in Europe. The Society will encourage and seek to integrate research and its translation into clinical benefits and professional and public education in all areas of human genetics.

Orphanet, link here , is a database of information on rare diseases and orphan drugs for all publics. Its aim is to contribute to the improvement of the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with rare diseases.
Orphanet includes a Professional Encyclopaedia, which is expert-authored and peer-reviewed, a Patient Encyclopaedia and a Directory of expert Services. This Directory includes information on relevant expert centres, clinical laboratories, research activities and patient organisations.

The European Genetics Foundation (EGF) link here  , is a not for profit organization founded in 1995 by a group of researchers who were involved at the time in the activity of the European School of Genetic Medicine.

European Cytogeneticists Association, link here

Ecaruca, link here is a European-based database, that collects cytogenetic and clinical data of rare chromosomal aberrations from (cyto)genetic centres in Europe and the rest of the world. Many ECARUCA accountholders are also member of the European Cytogeneticists Association (ECA).
During recent years there has been an enormous improvement in diagnostic techniques, enabling cytogeneticists to find more and smaller chromosomal aberrations. However, accurate clinical knowledge about rare chromosome disorders is frequently lacking, as a considerable percentage of cases remains unpublished.

EuroGentest, link here, is a European initiative that is dealing with all aspects of genetic testing - Quality Management, Information Databases, Public Health, New Technologies and Education.

The aim of the Clinical Molecular Genetics Society (CMGS), link here, is to advance the science of clinical molecular genetics and to further public education. We have a strong interest in promoting the quality of molecular genetic (DNA) testing in the UK through training, education, research, data-collection and quality schemes.

The purpose of the Behavior Genetics Association, link here, is to promote the scientific study of the interrelationship of genetic mechanisms and behavior, both human and animal; to encourage and aid the education and training of research workers in the field of behavior genetics; and to aid in the dissemination and interpretation to the general public of knowledge concerning the interrelationship of genetics and behavior, and its implications for health and human development and education.
